Are you interested in work experience for healthcare? Forus Training’s Level 5 Work Experience (Healthcare) course is starting on September 16th 2021.
Sign up today to gain this valuable QQI accredited qualification. This 7 week course is tailored towards the healthcare sector. You will be able to participate in the workplace for a limited time, carrying out work-related tasks independently while under general direction in a healthcare setting. The course will be delivered through a blend of virtual sessions and self directed learning allowing you to learn at your own pace without compromising on vital trainer support.
Throughout this programme, you will discover how to;
- Examine work organisations and personal career opportunities in a particular vocational area, to include consideration of work-related issues and needs,
- Analyse key challenges and opportunities facing a particular vocational area,
- Summarise the basic rights and responsibilities of employees and employers in a particular work, organisational or institutional context, to include health, safety and welfare at work, equality legislation, union representation and regulations relating to pay,
- Present relevant work experience material, to include a CV or personal statement, letter of application, evidence of job-finding skills, skills checklist, statement of learning goals, contractual arrangements,
- Explore options for future education, training and employment in light of work experience.
Assessment
The course 5N1356 Work Experience is assessed in the following ways, with the following weighting;
- Collection of work 60%
- Skills Demonstration 40%
Collection of work 60%;
A collection of work is a collection and/or selection of pieces of work produced by the learner over a period of time that demonstrates achievement of a range of learning outcomes. The collection may be self-generated or may be generated in response to a particular brief or tasks/activities devised by the assessor.
Skills Demonstration 40%;
A skills demonstration is used to assess a wide range of practical based learning outcomes including practical skills and knowledge. A skills demonstration will require the learner to complete a task or series of tasks that demonstrate a range of skills.

Learner Pack
- When you enrol on a course, you will receive a printed learner pack from your trainer on the first session of the event.
- This learner pack contains clear assessment instructions and comprehensive material to support you as you complete the course.
- The pack will also include induction information as well as forms that you will complete during and at the end of your course.
Trainer Support
- The trainer provides support to learners, including issuing feedback on draft work you will submit. Expect to wait up to 72 hours for a response by email from your trainer. Many of our trainers have full time jobs as well as training with us this means they will have up-to-date sector specific information, but also means that you need to allow a little time for them to get back to you. Our trainers are current with practice in the sector in which they work.
- Trainers can, by appointment, make time available to you before or after class to answer your queries that cannot be covered in the session. They can also make an appointment with you to discuss your work on a telephone call.
