QQI Level 6 Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) – Blended Learning

To meet the needs of an expanding ECCE sector Portobello Institute aims to provide a solid, integrated, unified approach to the delivery of ECCE training.
Our Early Childhood courses aim to develop our Learners the highest level of professional competence as practitioners, establishing in them a wide knowledge and a deep understanding of educational practices in conjunction with the principles set down by Síolta: the National Quality Framework for Early Childhood Education and Aistear: the Framework for Early Learning.
This qualification will allow you to work as a room leader or supervisor under the ECCE scheme. You will be qualified to work with children from 0 – 6 within the broader childcare settings.

This course is offered through blended learning, there will be a mixture of live lectures, online learning, directed home tasks and online/phone support from your personal tutor. You will attend 8 Saturday workshops (every 6 weeks).

Entry Requirements | Entry to this course is by direct application to the college. Learners should hold a minimum Level 5 in Early Childhood Education. To access programmes leading to this award the learner should have reached the standards of knowledge, skill and competence associated with the preceding level of the National Framework of Qualifications. This may have been achieved through a formal qualification or through relevant life and work experience. |
