Are you looking to start a career in Childcare Education? This comprehensive full-time Early Childhood Care and Education Course leads to a QQI level 5 Certificate after only one year. This course was structured to provide all students with a high standard of training and assessment. It leads to a recognized qualification for those wishing to work in the childcare sector. When taking this career path, students will be able to work in a variety of areas such as:
- working with the child in a day care nursery
- preschool or with a child with a specific need.
Students wishing to pursue further training in the childcare sector in Institutes of Technology and in Universities will find this course is an excellent starting point. The students will spend four days per week in college-based training and 120 hours on work experience.
The student receives on-going constructive feedback while on work experience. All graduates from this course, will be qualified to work independently with children, in a crèche or playschool setting.
Students will undertake 120 hours of work placement in relevant accredited child setting. The College will assist participants in finding suitable placements.

When students complete this Level 5 Award they will have undertaken:
• Occupational First Aid QQI Level 5
• HACCP Award
