Mental Healthcare – Introduction to
Waterford Institute of Technology
The term mental health problems describes the full range of mental health difficulties that might be encountered, from the psychological distress experienced by many people, to serious mental disorders and illnesses that affect a smaller population.
The aim of this module is to enable the student to acquire knowledge and skills necessary to explore the concepts of mental health and illness in the clinical and community setting, in promoting empowerment and recovery of the individual.
