Certificate in Contemporary Palliative Care Practice
Dundalk Institute of Technology (DkIT)
This 14-week part-time course aims to support nurses and midwives in enhancing their knowledge, skills and understanding of the core principles of palliative care. This aim is in line with the National Clinical Programme for Palliative Care HSE (2014) objective to build palliative care capacity among all nurses and midwives to respond confidently and in a timely manner to the palliative care needs of individuals and their families in any health care setting.

Course Times | The course takes place over one semester (14 weeks) with a combination of in-class and on-line delivery. Students are required to attend college one day (Tuesdays 9.00am-4.00pm) on alternate weeks over the semester. This amounts to a total 8 days in attendance in DkIT. |
