DEVELOP YOUR COMMUNICATION AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS
A key Leadership skill is the ability to build relationships through positive and effective communication.
OBJECTIVES OF THIS LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT COURSE
- Recognizing the importance of being ‘present’ during a conversation.
- To become aware of the impact of your body language, facial expression and non-verbal communication.
- Defining ‘Listening’ and distinguishing it from ‘hearing’.
- Demonstrating a critical awareness and understanding of the different levels of listening.
- To assess the effectiveness of your own listening skills.
- Learning how to avoid potential barriers to listening.
- Understanding how to build rapport and trust in relationships.
- To recognize different types of questions to ask which evoke awareness and understanding and help solve problems or else are judgemental, manipulative or critical of an individual.
- Exploring the Johari Window Communication Model and discovering the different parts of our self.
- Becoming aware of the value of giving and receiving feedback, the 4 types of feedback that can be used by Leaders and to identify which type of feedback you need to improve upon.
- To explore the 4 styles of communication and identify which style you use to interact and communicate with others.
