The aim of the Web Authoring QQI Level 6 course is to train the learner how to use and build websites suitable for use in a wide variety of work settings; within a company, setting up a business or setting up and administering a local website within the community.Learners who successfully complete the course will create an interactive website by:
– Identifying formats most suitable for use in Web Publishing regarding text,
graphics, audio and video files.
– Ensuring content is accurately and clearly presented using an effective and
appropriate web layout.
– Identifying internet and social media sites with the objective of targeting a
potential audience.
– Promoting and marketing the website using relevant search engines, directories
and other specialist facilities.
– Becoming familiar with various methods of uploading websites to a server and
going live in the market place.
Learners who complete the course will obtain a QQI Level 6 Component Award along with the satisfaction of creating and building their own functional website.
This course is also of benefit to learners who may wish to progress to further study at QQI Level 7 or Level 8.
Participant Criteria:
Leaving Certificate standard or equivalent.
A good level of computer skills is essential.
