Course Description
The Nail Technician – Part time
Portobello Institute
The developments in nail products and ensuing surge in popularity of nail bars has created a real opportunity to build a career as a skilled nail technician. Opportunities include working in a salon, in one of the many nail bars or setting up as a mobile nail technician building a loyal personal client base. This course enables learners to gain the necessary practical and theoretical skills to provide nail technology treatments including liquid, powder, gel and wraps and to maintain the care of the nails on the hands and feet including massage of those areas. This qualification is suitable for learners aged 16 and over and is designed to provide occupational competence at level 3.
Our research is, that many graduates of this course, progress to open their mobile treatment service and that whilst they learn the knowledge and skills to deliver treatments, setting-up a business requires different skills and a different type of support. For many years Portobello Institute has been supporting graduates, from all sectors to open their own business. We are delighted to offer this unique “Start Your Own Business” support to participants on this programme through our seminar series.
