During this ten week Sugarcraft for Beginners course you will learn techniques which will help you to create unique and original celebration cakes. The tutor, Sarah Fleming, has a diploma in Sugar craft and has completed many sugar flower courses in London. She is an experienced primary school teacher, who creates wedding and celebration cakes.
The ten week course aims to provide you with an opportunity to master basic sugar craft skills, which mixed with your own creativity will allow you to create and decorate centre piece worthy cakes. The course will be a hands on course where you will learn different techniques each week. You will learn to how to cover a cake with sharp edges, create fun figures and sugar flowers. You will get an opportunity to master techniques such as colouring sugar paste, embossing, crimping and lettering.
The classes will be very interactive and hands on. Beginning with a demonstration and then allowing you time to explore and practice each technique and skill.
A list of materials and tools needed will be provided on the first night.
