Course Description
REST: Starting with REST APIs
Study 365
Overview
Representational State Transfer (REST) refers to an architectural style that defines a set of constraints that has to be considered while developing web services. REST APIs are also sometimes known as RESTful APIs and depend on a stateless, client-server, cache communication protocol such as the HTTP. REST is used to use HTTP to connect machines instead of using complex mechanisms such as RPC, CORBA, or SOAP. RESTful APIs are also used to request and use HTTP to perform the CRUD operations i.e. Create, Read, Update and Delete.
REST is considered to be a widely accepted choice for web services. Therefore, one has to be well acquainted with REST in order to embark on a successful career in web development. This Starting with REST APIs training course is for any IT professional or casual developer anticipating a solid understanding of how REST works in open-sourced and private application development projects. This course pertains to not only web, mobile, and service application developers, but also architects, UI designers, testers, and administrators. You will learn how REST is implemented in both clients and servers through demonstration and practice through this diploma. How to effectively participate in a project leveraging REST APIs, both as consumers and providers will also be taught through this diploma.
