QQI Level 6 Higher Certificate in Business, Logistics and Supply Chain Management (Dublin 1 City Centre)  

Two-year, part-time QQI Level 6 Higher Certificate open to those wishing to enter industry or further their knowledge / career. Course is taught by Industry Lead Professionals. Student members of CILT will avail of Free Events, Job Listings and Communications by weekly Newsletter.

Our students come from a variety of backgrounds, some who are currently working across the logistics, supply chain and transport industries and are looking to progress their career with knowledge, QQI Level 6 qualifications and begin their membership journey with CILT Ireland.

Other individuals are those who have not worked in the area but are looking for a course that suits their work schedule and life balance. Our course gives them access to industry professional lectures, access to tours and visits to potential employers, networking events and weekly up-to-date communication and information from industry.

How the Higher Certificate Works:

• 25 Saturday classes per academic year from 14 September to early May 2020
• Blended Learning: module-based classes attended in person over four Saturdays PLUS online lectures
• Year 1: Six Subjects – All are examined by Continuous Assessment except Finance
• Year 2: Five Subjects with written exam PLUS End of Year Project
• Flexible payment, deposit only €250 with equal four payments of €562.50 in the months of October, November, January and February.
• Accreditation of QQI Level 6 in conjunction with IT Carlow
• All the benefits of being an IT Carlow student Including Student Card, Online / Library / Blackboard Access

Certificate Year 1:

• Communications and Writing Skills
• Business Applications 1
• Introduction to Supply Chain Management
• Fundamentals of Finance for Supply Chain (Plus the only in Class Exam for Year 1)
• Warehouse and Transport Management
• Customer Services for Supply Chain

On completion of Year 1 students receive a Certificate in Logistics and Supply Chain Management (Minor Award – 60 Credits). Students can choose to exit the course with this award.

Higher Certificate Year 2:

• Advance Finance Stage 2
• Management of Supply Chain Operations
• Applied Human Resource Management
• Marketing for Supply Chain
• Customs Clearance and Dangerous Good Awareness
• Submission: Year of End Project (Mid-June)

On completion of Year 2 students are awarded a Higher Certificate in Logistics and Supply Chain Management (Major Award – 120 Credits).

Certification:
The QQI Level 6 Higher Certificate is accredited in conjunction with IT Carlow.

Membership:
While studying on the course individuals will become Free Student Members (non-professional grade) and can avail of attending events, industry visits, networking opportunities and weekly newsletter.
Once graduated, can choose to continue your journey to professional member and chartered membership (MILT and CMILT post nominal letters).
Professional Membership is recognised globally by the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport International which has over 30,000 members worldwide. The Institute is celebrating its 100 year since it was began at the Savoy Hotel in London on 3 November 1919 by a group of senior transport professionals who wanted to change the world of logistics and transport.
