Montessori Teaching – Part Time Evening

Portobello Institute’s QQI Level 6 Minor Award in Montessori is a National qualification that will allow you open your own Montessori or or work as a Montessori teacher. During this 7-month course you will acquire a thorough knowledge of child development, comparative early year’s methodologies and how to create a positive learning environment for children. You will attend classes 1 evening a week over 1 academic year and focus on the minor awards that deliver learning in the Montessori method and pedagogy. During this course, you will learn about development and learning in children, from birth to six years old in a socio-cultural context and the implications of this for practice in early childhood settings. You will develop the capacity to work and communicate effectively with parents, families, colleagues and other professionals to safeguard, support and promote children’s learning, development and well-being.
