Italian (Diploma)

The Diploma in Italian introduces students to the basics of the Italian language and assists them in developing their language competence in relation to the common situations of everyday life. The course concentrates on all four main language skills (listening, speaking, reading and writing) and uses authentic material, carefully selected, to provide a gradual introduction to the structures and functions of the language. In addition, a cultural module will introduce students to aspects of contemporary Italian culture including the main trends in Italian art, cinema, history and lectures on a variety of topics from different regions in Italy to wine-tasting sessions. On completion of the Diploma in Italian course, students acquire a very high level of oral and written communication skills in the Italian language for personal, travel or professional purposes.
