This programme provides participants with an excellent grounding in the dynamic discipline of alternative dispute resolution (ADR). The course focuses on three key components of ADR, mediation, arbitration and conciliation. Particular emphasis is placed on the practical application of ADR techniques within professional and industrial contexts. Participants will study the various forms of ADR in terms of their processes, procedures and appropriate uses. The course will address the role of ethics in the use of ADR. Consideration is also given to how to participants can establish an ADR program in their own work environments and how they can integrate ADR language into legal and business contracts.
This course is offered three times per year, in January, April and September.
