Course Description
Diploma in Care of the Senior Pets – Level 3
Global Edulink
Overview
Senior pets refer to the pets that are too old and require special attention and care. Different pets mature differently based on their breed and genetics. It is very crucial to identify the age in which a specific pet reaches maturity in order to provide it with special attention and care. Although breed mainly determines the maturity of pets, nutrition and environment also play a role in how fast a pet ages.
Just as humans, when pets grow old they face many health issues which require special attention and care. They might face dental issues, arthritis and degenerative diseases. They might also tend to get tired easily, find it difficult to run, walk or play and to find a comfortable position to sleep in. identifying the health issues and diseases in senior pets early on and treating them accordingly may greatly impact the overall health of senior pets and may help them live longer. It may also improve their state of mind and keep them happy.
