The aim of this online course is to provide learners with skills, knowledge and competency in implementing and troubleshooting Security issues. Learners will acquire knowledge and skills in system security, network infrastructure, access control and organisational security.
This course is intended for learners wishing to qualify with CompTIA Security+ and is aimed primarily at networking professionals, but because security is vital to all levels and job roles within an organisation the course will also benefit PC support analysts, application developers, and senior managers in accounting, sales, product development and marketing.

| Entry Requirements | Age Requirements: Applicants must have reached the current statutory school leaving age, i.e. 16 years of age. Professional Education: Learners should have Leaving Certificate standard of education. It is recommended that learners have successfully completed the Network+ certification and have at least 2 years experience of network support with an emphasis on security. Aptitude: Good verbal and written communication skills are desirable. Previous Experience: Before commencing this course, learners should have skills and knowledge in the following: the function and basic features of a PC, using windows to create and manage files, using basic administrative features such as Explorer, Control Panel and Management Consoles. Learners should understand basic network terminology (such as OSI Model, Topology, Ethernet,), and be familiar with TCP/IP addressing, core protocols, and troubleshooting tools. Experience in using web based learning is an advantage. |
