Awarding Body : City & Guilds - Educational Organisation and Awarding Body
City & Guilds is a vocational education organisation in the United Kingdom that was established in 1878. Since 1900 they have operated under Royal Charter.
Apprenticeships, vocational and technical qualifications
The organisation offers a wide range of vocational and technical qualifications. In addition, they have a comprehensive number of apprenticeships. These range from beauty therapy to business, construction to conservation and digital technology to tourism. The organisation also works in more than 80 countries around the world. They work in close partnership to develop high quality products and services. As a result, City & Guilds helps solve local skills shortages and creates the workforce of tomorrow.
Commendations and awards
City & Guilds offers a number of different commendations and awards. First of all, commendations give tutors and learners recognition for their achievements at a local level. The Medals for Excellence programme recognises impressive achievements of learners and tutors. Each year, around 200 students across the world achieve medals. In addition, Professional Recognition Awards are for those at the highest professional levels within their chosen careers. Finally, the Prince Philip Medal awards a City & Guilds graduate for outstanding achievements within their chosen career.
