Awarding Body : Accounting Technicians Ireland - Professional Awarding Body in Ireland
Accounting Technicians Ireland (formerly IATI) is the leading professional body for accounting technicians in Ireland.
About ATI
Established in 1983, this organisation provides an internationally recognised business qualification. They educate, support and represent over 10,000 people working in the profession. They also promote the highest educational, technical and ethical standards to their members.
ATI is a not-for-profit organisation. They are a partner body of Chartered Accountants Ireland. They are also an associate member of the International Federation of Accountants.
The ATI qualification
A qualification from ATI combines professional exams with practical work experience. It is one of the leading accounting qualifications in Ireland.
Two parts make up the qualification. Firstly, the Certificate for Accounting Technicians, which takes a year. Finally, the Diploma for Accounting Technicians. This required two years of study and also two years of work experience.
The Certificate for Accounting Technicians is a Level 6 on the Irish National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ) in the Republic of Ireland. This is comparable with a Level 4 award in the UK and Northern Ireland.
The Diploma for Accounting Technicians is also a Level 6 of the Irish NFQ. This is equivalent to a Level 5 award in the UK and Northern Ireland.
