The University of Strathclyde, a public research university in Glasgow, Scotland, has welcomed applications from South Asian female students for five fully supported postgraduate scholarships in the United Kingdom.
One-year Master’s degrees in health and life sciences, climate change, environment and risk reduction, energy transition, and industry 4.0/digital transformation are available.
The fellowship, which is sponsored in partnership with the British Council, is open to students from Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Nepal, and Sri Lanka.
Each scholarship pays for full tuition, monthly stipends, a round-trip economy ticket, and additional expenses. Candidates who are interested in applying for the scholarships must do so by March 31.
The British Council is the United Kingdom’s international cultural and educational organization. The British Council’s STEM for Girls program strives to enhance possibilities for girls in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).
The program, which takes a lifetime approach, promotes young girls to continue in STEM and helps women in related industries advance to positions of leadership and network with their colleagues.
The gender divide in STEM fields is well-known. In this field, women publish fewer research papers and are paid less. Despite being demonstrated to be 8 percent more productive than their male colleagues, they are less likely to acquire positions of leadership.

The British Council scholarship programme fits in with our ethos at Strathclyde to encourage more females to consider STEM related careers, and to help address the gender imbalance. This is a life -changing opportunity for five candidates from the eligible countries to join us at the University of Strathclyde to complete their fully funded MSc studies.”
The British Council Scholarships for Women in STEM were launched in 2020, allowing women from South Asia, East Asia, and America to study for a Master’s degree at a UK-based university with a fully supported scholarship.
More than 3,000 applications were received from throughout the world, and 19 partner colleges awarded 118 scholarships. At least seven of these scholarships went to students who were planning to enroll at the University of Strathclyde.
